What you can expect from an article, and what we do when it is wrong.
Sources
Every published article lists its sources, and every factual claim should be traceable to one. Sources are only listed if they were actually consulted. Where sources disagree, the article says so rather than choosing quietly.
Use of AI tools
AI tools are used to help draft articles. They are not trusted as a source. Every article is checked against its sources by a person, edited heavily and rewritten in the site owner’s voice, and is published under the owner’s editorial responsibility. Quotations are only used if they are found in a listed source.
Images
Images are public domain, openly licensed, licensed, or our own, and each shows its credit and licence. Any AI-generated illustration is labelled as such and is never presented as a historical image.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and record the correction at the end of the article, with its date. Small typographical fixes are not listed. To report a mistake, use the contact page.
Independence
Affiliate links, advertising and donations help fund the site but do not decide what is written or how. Affiliate links are always disclosed near the links (see the affiliate disclosure).
